Research
Earth sciences have many complicated phenomena that involves many factors. So, we need to think in various point of view, or to be confused in many factors.
In earth sciences, we work on ocean and atmosphere with researchers outside the university, or within our group.
Ocean currents in the upper ocean is mostly driven by the stress given by the wind. We investigate how the wind stress and other factors such as earth's rotation and topography determine the ocean currents by data analyses and numerical experiments.
Waters in coastal ocean and estuary show complicated distribution and movement affected by fresh water and tide. We aim to reveal and understand these phenomena.
We observe local atmospheric phenomena to reveal local weather and climate, especially focusing on small-scale phenomena.
